Are You Making the Most of FireBoard Analyze™?
It’s been two years since we introduced FireBoard Analyze™, and it’s still one of the most powerful features of the FireBoard app. Analyze™ offers unique ways to improve your cooking by predicting temperature trends and comparing your hard work against your past self.
So, are you making the most of it? Here’s a refresher on what FireBoard Analyze™ can do for you and why it’s an excellent tool for becoming a better home cook (especially as the holidays approach!)
What is FireBoard Analyze™?
When we first launched FireBoard Analyze™, we introduced two key tools: Predictive Analysis and Session Comparison. These features were designed to give users deeper insights into their cooking and provide a way to learn from your past cooks. Let’s quickly walk through them.
Predictive Analysis – Know Exactly When Your Cook Will Be Ready
Predictive Analysis takes the guesswork out of cooking by estimating when your meat will reach its target temperature. It’s continuously recalculated throughout the cook, adjusting based on real-time temperature trends.
- Linear and S-Curve Graphing: The tool gives you two visualization options: the Linear graph, which shows a straightforward projection of time and temperature, and the S-Curve, which adjusts dynamically based on real-time cooking data. The S-Curve’s predictive window narrows as the cook progresses, providing plenty of time to get an accurate read on the best time to open the hood.
- Why You’ll Love It: Imagine you’re slow-cooking a brisket for hours, and your family keeps asking, “When’s it going to be done?” With Predictive Analysis, you can confidently provide an answer, helping you plan the rest of your meal and keep hungry family members at bay.
Session Comparison – Learn from Your Previous Cooks
Have you ever nailed a cook and wished you could replicate it exactly? Session Comparison can help. This feature allows you to overlay a past cook session onto your current cook, so you can compare how things are going in real time.
- Offset Adjust for Precision: Use the “Offset Adjust” tool to sync your current cook with a previous session, allowing you to make fine adjustments on the fly and make sure your current cook stays on track.
- Real-World Example: Let’s say you’ve cooked the perfect rack of ribs before, and now you want to recreate it for a special occasion. Session Comparison will show you exactly how your current cook measures up against your past success, allowing you to spot any deviations and adjust accordingly. If you’re on the competitive side, this can become a fun challenge every time you fire up the grill – can you beat your best?
How to Access FireBoard Analyze™
If you haven’t used FireBoard Analyze™ in a while, it’s simple to access. Just tap the Analyze tab at the bottom of your FireBoard mobile app dashboard, and select either Predictive Analysis or Session Comparison.
- For Predictive Analysis: Set your target temperature, and the app will provide real-time projections of when your food will be ready.
- For Session Comparison: Select a past session to overlay with your current cook, and use the offset adjuster to align the timing for an accurate comparison.
Why You Should Start Using FireBoard Analyze™ Again
If you haven’t been using FireBoard Analyze™ lately, now is the perfect time to revisit it. Predictive Analysis helps you plan your time more efficiently, while Session Comparison helps you refine your technique by learning from your past sessions. All wrapped up in the same app interface as your active sessions and historical cooks.
And the more you use Analyze™, the more data it has to compare against, meaning the more accurate it’ll become over time. To that end, start getting some practice cooks in before the holidays so your calculations are razor-sharp!
As we continue to expand and enhance the FireBoard ecosystem, we’re always looking for new ways to make your cooking experience better and more enjoyable. Have an idea that you’d like to see added? Shoot us an email at info@fireboard.com to get it added to our development checklist.
