Built-in magnets allow this FireBoard 2 series Base to mount on most metal surfaces. A non-slip bottom also lets the base firmly rest on a flat surface. The base provides easy screen viewing and port access. Compatible with the FBX2, FBX2D, and FBX2K.

To avoid heat damage, base should not be attached to grill lid or body.

Specifications:

  • 4.88 inches wide x 2.125 inches tall x 3 inches deep
  • Material: ABS plastic / silicone
  • Maximum temperature: 150 °F

Magnetic Base

A must have. A plus to the magnetic holding power is the angle it sets the Fireboard at for better viewing from a distance.

Maybe

I replaced my FireBoard I with a FireBoard II when they first came out. At the same time I bought a magnetic base. As time went by, the back of the base expanded away and the magnetic feature was no longer usable. I hope the new base is more durable. Honestly I don’t recall how long I have had the FireBoard II, but I was disappointed it was not more durable. The base is still useful enough I felt it was worth replacing.

Replacing my 1st gen Fireboard

I decided to get the updated FireBoard after my 1st gen finally started to stop working. I like the larger screen vs the original. Having the options to use 1-6 probes is also why I decided to upgrade. I really do like having multiple probes in use and having the option to have a probe for ambient temp. The FireBoard connect fine to wireless, the mobile app and web works great also.
